Friendship
Truly, as Christians we have a friend who
sticks closer than a brother. If you have a brother or sister, then you may
understand the dynamics of sisterhood or brotherhood. When you have a brother
or sister that you’re close to, you may have certain activities that you love
to do together for example, watching television, listening music, going to the
beach, going for drives/walks or talking about heart matters with him or her.
We can imagine then, that when we have a friend who sticks closer than a brother,
that that friend must be very close indeed since they’re even closer than
a brother. While we may have friends in our lives, who are like brothers and
sisters to us, the truest friend that we have is Jesus Christ. As Christians,
He is with us and in us. He stays close and is with us at all times to protect,
guide, love, comfort and help us.
When I think of friendship, these are a
few scripture
verses that I
think of:
“A man that hath friends must shew
himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” –
Proverbs 18:24 (KJV)
“A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for
adversity.” –
Proverbs 17:17 (KJV)
“One who loves a pure heart and who speaks
with grace will have the king for a friend.” – Proverbs 22:11 (NIV)
Wisdom
What do we do when we face situations in life and we don't know what to do about them?
Often times in life, we face situations that leave us at a standstill, totally bewildered and sometimes, seem to trap us in uncertainty. I believe God wants us to know His wisdom for such situations. A good place to start, is prayer. Scripture tells that if we lack wisdom, that we ought to ask God for wisdom believing Him for it, without doubting, and that He will give us His wisdom.

A good place to start, is prayer. Scripture tells that if we lack wisdom, that we ought to ask God for wisdom believing Him for it, without doubting, and that He will give us His wisdom.
These scriptures in particular come to my mind:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” – James 1:5 (ESV)
“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” – James 1:6 (ESV)
“For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;” – James 1:7 (ESV)
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” – Psalms 111:10 (KJV)

Comfort and Encouragement
Which scriptures give you comfort upon hearing them?
Psalms 139: 13-18 (KJV)
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
Romans 8:35-39 (KJV)
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Psalm 23:6 (KJV)
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Romans 8:28 (KJV)
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Philippians 4:13 (KJV)
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Philippians 4:4 (KJV)
4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
1 John 4:4 (KJV)
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
St. John 14:27 (KJV)
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Psalm 150 (KJV)
1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
