As children, they would depend on their parents or even their teacher for Guidance throughout their lives. It's somewhat like us as Christians. We look to God for guidance in every which way even though at times we act like we can do it by ourselves. But we can't do everything or anything on our own; we need God's guidance in every decision and in every situation. In every way I think of him as a guide to a successful life. And I believe we ought to ask him for his guidance. This reminds me of two scripture verses. James 1:5-6 says "if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
